The Beautification of the Shuford Garden and an Invitation

Friends,
Recently, a group of longtime friends of Grace and Cecil Pless felt moved to honor the Plesses for their many years of devoted service to this parish.
With that in mind, the group has undertaken a multi‑year restoration and further beautification of the Shuford Garden, located near the Administrative Offices of the church.
The garden has always been a wonderful place to enjoy the serenity of our church. Over time, however, it began to need restoration. Under the direction of Art Garst and his landscape and gardening skills—and with the blessing of the Rector, the Pless daughters, and the Grounds Committee—the group discerned that there was no better way to memorialize Grace and Cecil than to take on this project in their memory.
Please know that the Shuford Garden is a perfect spot to enjoy quiet time with God or with a friend, to experience the beauty of nature, and to rest in a place of tranquility for thought and prayer. We warmly invite you to spend time there. Seating has been added, and further beautification will continue. As you visit, think of our beloved Grace and Cecil, and we hope the garden brings you the same pleasure it has brought to us and to the staff.
Thank you,
Mack Day and Art Garst
