Trinity Resumes Offering Education for Ministry in January 2027

For decades, Trinity has offered Education for Ministry (EfM), often with members from many different congregations. After Hurricane Helene affected our program, we’re glad to begin again, and you are invited, whether or not you belong to Trinity. Members of other Episcopal parishes across the Diocese and friends from other churches are warmly welcome.

Six to twelve people gather weekly for biblical study and theological reflection, exploring the Old and New Testaments, church history, and how faith meets everyday life. No theological background is needed, only curiosity and a desire to grow alongside others.

The full program is a four-year journey, meeting January through May and September through December, and you can commit one year at a time.

Our new group begins in January 2027, meeting at Trinity on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There is a cost, and scholarships are available. Phyllis Smith, a retired Mars Hill University faculty member, will facilitate, with the Rev. Dr. R. Scott White, Trinity’s Rector, assisting.

To join or ask questions, contact Phyllis Smith (smith25200@bellsouth.net) or the Rev. Dr. R. Scott White (scott@trinityasheville.org). Learn more on the EfM website.
