Trinitarian Lee Stockdale is grateful that the North Carolina Poetry Society has named him a Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poet. With this honor, Lee will "mentor a middle school, high school, and college poet, and an emerging adult poet, preparing them to give a spring reading. I am excited and truly grateful for the opportunity to nurture young poets."

This comes on the heels of Lee winning the 2025 Montana Prize for Humor for his poem “Depression Bus." His new collection, “Bronxville,” is forthcoming in June 2026 from Finishing Line Press.
