A Season of Rest and Return:
Celebrating Debbie Cox

Debbie will be on sabbatical during the months of May and June. Sabbatical is a season set apart for rest, renewal, and the kind of focused reflection that the pace of ministry rarely allows. Those of us who have watched Debbie give and give and give over a quarter century know that this time is not only deserved — it is genuinely needed, and we are so glad she is taking it.
But the story doesn't end there. Debbie's sabbatical will conclude in a remarkable way. This summer, she will join me in accompanying Trinity's teenagers on a pilgrimage to Ecuador, where our young people will travel, serve, and work alongside the Episcopal Church there. It is, in so many ways, a fitting capstone to a season of renewal: Debbie returning to ministry not behind a desk, but on the road, in community, with the next generation of Trinity's faithful.
Twenty-five years. Think about what those years contain — the children baptized, the families served, the crises navigated, the ordinary Sundays that quietly held this community together. Debbie has been present for so much of what makes Trinity, Trinity. Her work has often been the kind that goes unseen, which is precisely why it deserves to be seen now.
In the weeks ahead, we invite you to express your gratitude to Debbie directly — a note, a word, a simple thank you. And as May arrives and she steps away, hold her in your prayers. Give thanks for 25 years of faithful service. Rejoice with her in this gift of rest. And look forward, with us, to her return.
Thanks be to God for Debbie Cox.
