9a-5p | Trekking in the 828 Trip to Chimney Rock

Chimney Rock State Park is one of our newest state parks located in Hickory Nut Gorge about 28 miles from Asheville. Board a 25 passenger Emma bus for this trek.  Please be at Trinity by 9 a.m.Thursday, August 24th for the drive down to Lake Lure. We will be met by a guide and can either walk the 500 steps or ride the 26 story elevator to the top of Chimney Rock for a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding mountains. We will take a few short walks on top with a guide who will share the history of Chimney Rock and then descend to Lake Lure to have lunch at La Strada. After lunch we will walk the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge before our return to  Asheville around 4:30 or 5 p.m. Trinity covers the bus fee  and the entrance fee to Chimney Rock State Park.
