Each year Trinity’s Nominating Committee, consisting of the Senior Class of Trinity Church’s Vestry, meets to consider names, holds conversations with potential nominees, and prepares a slate of candidates to be approved at the Annual Parish Meeting in October. This year, those serving on the Nominating Committee are Mack Day (Junior Warden), Lynne Diehl, Robert Haden, Page McCorkle, and Leslie Welker (Senior Warden).

To serve on the Vestry, the nominee must be:

​

• a baptized and confirmed member of the Episcopal Church

• over the age of 18 years of age

• been a member of the parish for at least twelve months

• been an active, pledging member of the parish for a least twelve months before the election

​

I cannot stress enough the importance of the parish’s role not only in providing names for the Nominating Committee to consider but also being open to serving on the Vestry. I acknowledge that you might be thinking, “I would like to do that, but I am too _____ (fill in the blank)”. I thought the same myself. However, not only did I discover that I had time to serve but have found that serving on the Vestry has been one of the most spiritually fulfilling opportunities of my life. I encourage you to be thinking of name(s) to submit, but to also to consider submitting your own name. We do ask that if you self-nominate, please provide the Nominating Committee with the name of a parish sponsor.
