Deacon

 

Bob Zito is a native New Yorker and served three parishes in the Diocese of New York as deacon: Church of the Incarnation (Manhattan), Trinity Wall Street (Manhattan) and Christ the King (Stone Ridge). His ministry has focused on education, evangelism and church growth. He was ordained in 2001, was a member of various diocesan committees and served as Church Attorney for the diocese under the Church’s disciplinary canons. Bob was Chaplain for the 9th New York Field Artillery Unit, the Holland Lodge No. 8 F&AM, and the Shelter Island Yacht Club. He is a graduate of Tulane University and New York Law School.

Bob is a full-time law professor at the Marist College School of Management, teaching remotely to undergraduate business students in the areas of business law and ethics. Bob expects to retire from teaching this year.

Prior to teaching, Bob practiced law for 35 years and was Chair of the Financial Institutions Regulatory and Enforcement Practice Group at Carter Ledyard & Milburn, LLP on Wall Street. He has served on the boards of Brooklyn Federal Savings Bank, Union Chapel in the Grove, Shelter Island Yacht Club, the Down Town Association and the Holland Lodge Foundation. He is the President of Hudson Strategic Solutions, Inc., a management consultancy. 

Bob has been listed in Marquis’ Who’s Who in America® and Who's Who in American Law®, Super Lawyers® and Martindale-Hubbell® (Preeminent among Bar and Judiciary). In 2015, Bob received the Servant of Justice Award from the Diocese of New York. In 2001, Bob retired from the New York Guard at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (JAG), after ten years of part-time military service. He is a Knight of Justice and Chapter (Board) member of the American Priory of The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem under HM Elizabeth II. 

Bob lives in Arden with his wife Dana Cole, a devoted needle-pointer and jigsaw puzzler, and their two PBGVs, Clancy and Chowder. Bob loves to cook and play the violin and guitar. He and Dana are avid golfers and tennis players. They also enjoy yoga, hiking, biking and birding.
