Paul Paddock
and Anna Goodman
Piano and Bassoon
Don't miss our February concert at Trinity! Paul Paddock, pianist
and Anna Goodman, bassoonist, both members of the Trinity Chancel Choir,
will present a concert at Trinity on February 12 at 5:30 PM. Music will
include works by Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Joplin and jazz arrangements
of hymns.
Paul
Paddock is from Williamsburg, VA and currently attends UNCA where he is
working on a Bachelor’s degree in multimedia arts and sciences, with a
minor in mathematics. He aspires to work at an animating or a 3-D
modeling facility such as Pixar, and will seek an internship with Disney
this summer. Paul began playing piano at age 8 and began singing in
choirs at age 11. He has played for public events such as silent
auctions, sports events, and community functions. He has accompanied
numerous jazz ensembles and currently sings and plays for Studio 18
Vocal Jazz Ensemble at UNCA. Paul has blessed Trinity many times with
his soulful jazz arrangements of hymns. Paul is the grandson of David
and Blue Paddock, also members of Trinity.
Anna
Goodman is a sophomore at UNCA, majoring in Atmospheric Sciences, and
she hopes to become a meteorologist graduate. Alongside her deep
interest in weather, music has always been a major part of her life from
a young age. She began playing bassoon seven years ago and has played in
several different concert bands from middle school to college, and has
just recently started venturing into playing more jazz, and performing
more solos with bassoon. She currently plays bassoon in the symphonic
band at UNCA. She has also played percussion for many years, as well as
the flute for a short period. Anna performed in the rhythm section in
jazz bands in high school as the bass keyboardist. Singing has been a
recent addition to her musical skills. She sang in the University
Singers Chorus at UNCA last year, and is currently a member of the
Studio 18 Jazz Vocal Ensemble at UNCA, as well as being a member of the
choir at Trinity.
