Almighty God, giver of every good gift:
Look graciously on your Church,
and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish,
that we may receive a faithful pastor,
who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Calling a New Rector
Reports
Committee

If you would like to submit someone’s name as a candidate for Rector, please begin working toward that objective. First, you will need to secure permission from the potential candidate. Then, submit the name and contact information to Ed Bleynat, Discernment Committee Chair, in confidence. He will share it with Jim Pritchett, Canon to the Ordinary, for diocesan review.

Diocesan review is focused on fitness for service, considering disciplinary and other issues, rather than on assessing whether the candidate will be a good fit for Trinity. Once the candidate passes this screening, his or her name would be placed in the pool of people who are interested in serving as Trinity’s next rector.

All candidates would be on comparable footing, with no disadvantages arising from having gone through the parishioner nomination route rather than through the more common route of candidates submitting their own names for consideration directly.

Accordingly, if you wish to offer any person’s name for consideration by the Discernment Committee, please obtain that person’s consent and provide appropriate contact information to me at your earliest convenience; but in any event, well before the 19 September 2011 cut-off date for applications.
