Almighty God, giver of every good gift:
Look graciously on
your Church,
and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a
rector for this parish,
that we may receive a faithful pastor,
who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |

Parish Profile
Trinity Episcopal Church in Asheville, North Carolina has embarked on a
prayerful transition and discernment process in the calling of its next
Rector. This energy-filled period will be one of self-reflection and
dreaming, one of community-building and outreach, and one in which the
Parish family continues to grow in love, stewardship, and service to God.
Trinity’s Discernment Committee was commissioned
during worship services on Sunday, September 26, 2010. This committee
represents a cross-section of the parish and is charged by the Vestry to
“recommend a priest who best demonstrates the pastoral and ministerial
skills needed by the Trinity congregation”. Trinity anticipates the process
to take until end-of-year 2011.
Next Stepping Stone:
The path leading to our 2011 goal is one of deliberate discernment “stepping
stones”. This thoughtful and time-tested process is designed to promote a
good match between our Parish and our new Rector.
The Discernment Committee’s early work will be to gain a deeper
understanding of Trinity’s many ministries, participation and demographics.
This information will eventually be used to create a Parish Profile which
will be published on our website. This profile will be a great resource for
potential candidates for Rector, and great for sharing with visitors or
others who are interested in Trinity. An important part of developing the
Parish Profile will be seeking and documenting input from the congregation,
called a Parish Survey. The survey will highlight the parish’s demographic
makeup as well as dreams for the future and spiritual strengths desired in
its next Rector.
Please continue to visit this site as updated reports are posted about our
Parish’s progress towards the call of its next Rector.
